A master’s thesis at the College of Islamic Sciences discusses the impact of zakat and expiations on achieving food security

The College of Islamic Sciences at the University of Fallujah discussed a master’s thesis in the Department of Sharia, entitled “The Impact of Zakat and Expiations in Achieving Food Security:

 A Study in the Islamic Economic Perspective.” The thesis discussion session witnessed the presence of the honorable President of the University, Professor Dr. Ahmed Suleiman Hamad, the Dean of the College, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Jassim Abd, and a group of the college’s employees and students.

 The thesis submitted by the student Wanis Abbas Jadaan, under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Hatem Abdullah Shweish, to explore the vital role of zakat and expiations and their impact on achieving food security within the framework of the legitimate purposes of Islam, in addition to explaining the most important risks that may surround food security from the types of economic crimes and how to confront them.

 The discussion committee was headed by Prof. Dr. Hassan Ahmed Hussein, and the membership of Prof. Dr. Muhammad Naguib Hammadi, and A.M.D. Muhammad Hadi Talal.

 The results of the thesis showed that paying zakat correctly and performing expiations have a major role in building a strong Islamic economy with diverse resources, which contributes to achieving food security.
