Establishment and Growth

Fallujah University was established by ministerial order No. (Q/4/3) on February 23, 2014. Initially, the university comprised five colleges: the College of Medicine, the College of Administration and Economics, the College of Law, the College of Veterinary Medicine, and the College of Islamic Sciences. On September 9, 2018, the College of Applied Sciences was added, consisting of four departments. Due to the events affecting Anbar, including Fallujah, the university was compelled to begin its first academic year in Baghdad, relying on the support of the Ministry of Higher Education, senior leadership, faculty members, and staff.

The university aspires to achieve a distinguished status among national, Arab, and international universities, leveraging Fallujah’s rich scientific and cultural heritage. Despite being a relatively young institution, Fallujah University is committed to providing students with education that adheres to the standards set by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. Additionally, it actively supports valuable research programs that contribute to economic growth and societal development, driving the nation toward progress and prosperity.

Vision, Mission, and Objectives

Vision: Fallujah University is a hub for knowledge, learning, and academic research. It strives to be a beacon of education, fostering collaboration with diverse cultures to enhance educational quality and support a more innovative society.

Mission: The university is dedicated to advancing knowledge, applying it effectively, and enriching society through excellence in teaching, academic research, community service, and creative endeavors. It aims to create a high-quality learning environment.

Objectives:

A university’s emblem carries profound significance, reflecting its mission and principles. The emblem of Fallujah University symbolizes depth, authenticity, and innovation.

  • The Iraqi Arabic Kufic script links the university to its Arab heritage and national identity.
  • The golden yellow rays represent the sun’s light, radiating from the university’s name to signify the spread of knowledge that dispels ignorance and backwardness.
  • The rays are shaped like a mosque dome, emphasizing the university’s commitment to Islamic values and scientific principles, acknowledging Fallujah’s historical title as the "Mother of Mosques."
  • The letters "A" and "L" in the center of the emblem rise with pride, forming a mosque’s minaret crowned by a pen tip, signifying the inseparable bond between knowledge and faith in human excellence.
  • The straight line below the university’s name symbolizes stability, strong foundations, and steadfast principles.
  • The green color represents peace and prosperity, while the black color signifies the ink of scholars, illuminating minds throughout history.

At the bottom of the emblem, the university’s establishment date is inscribed in both the Hijri and Gregorian calendars, along with its name in English. This reflects the university’s openness to the world, recognizing that knowledge transcends borders and cultural differences.
