A master’s thesis at the College of Law discussing the legal regulation of small and medium enterprises

On Monday, July 22, 2024, the College of Law at the University of Fallujah discussed the master’s thesis in private law entitled “Legal Regulation of Small and Medium Enterprises.”

The thesis submitted by student Farah Tariq Ibrahim, under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Sahar Rashid Ali, addressed the importance of small and medium enterprises as they are the focus of the efforts of the governments of developing and developed countries due to their vital role in increasing production, providing job opportunities, and contributing to the growth of the national economy.

The thesis discussion committee was headed by Prof. Dr. Majeed Ahmed Ibrahim and the membership of Prof. Dr. Muhammad Latif Saleh and Prof. Haifa Mazhar Falhi.

The findings of the thesis indicated that these projects face multiple challenges related to the development of markets, systemic obstacles, financing obstacles, social problems, and lack of clarity in supportive government policies.

The results also showed that limiting the banks financing these projects to a limited number and not providing sufficient financing led to the difficulty of supporting these projects, which negatively affected their role in economic development.

The results of the thesis showed that neglecting these projects resulted in a decline in their role in development and progress, and their dependence on available local production requirements, due to the absence of laws protecting and encouraging these projects.
