The Launch of the First Periodic International Conference on Administrative and Economic Sciences at the University of Fallujah
Under the patronage of His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi, and under the supervision of the President of the University, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Suleiman Hamad, the activities of the First Periodic International Conference on Administrative and Economic Sciences officially commenced on the morning of Wednesday, April 23, 2025, at the University of Fallujah. The conference is organized by the College of Administration and Economics, in cooperation with Al-Shaab University and Al-Idrisi University College, under the slogan: “Foundations of Administrative, Economic, and Financial Reform in the Era of Digitalization and Artificial Intelligence.”
The conference aims to shed light on reform approaches in administrative, economic, and financial structures in light of the rapid digital transformations and the growing role of artificial intelligence in shaping modern economic policies.
The event witnessed broad official and academic participation, led by the Governor of Anbar, Mr. Mohammed Nouri Al-Dulaimi, along with several university presidents and representatives. Among them were the President of Al-Siraj University, Prof. Dr. Khaled Hamza Jureimat, the Dean of Al-Huda University College, Prof. Dr. Abdul Ilah Thabit Mohammed, the Head of the Academics Union, Dr. Ali Maseer, Anbar Provincial Council members Mr. Zaid Ali Hammad and Mr. Saad Ghazi Al-Mohammadi, the Mayor of Fallujah, Mr. Khaled Faisal Al-Aifan, Anbar Operations Commander Major General Raad Al-Bashar Al-Jubouri, Anbar Police Chief Major General Abdul Jabbar Abbas Al-Bilawi, and several general directors from the province. Also in attendance were the Assistant President of the University for Scientific Affairs, Asst. Prof. Dr. Nahla Naji Hilal, the Assistant President for Administrative Affairs, Prof. Dr. Suleiman Barak, several deans, and a distinguished group of researchers from various Iraqi and Arab universities.
In his opening speech, the University President and representative of the Minister of Higher Education, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Suleiman Hamad, emphasized that the timing of the conference is particularly significant, as the world is undergoing rapid changes in management and economics due to digitalization and artificial intelligence. This, he said, necessitates that academic and research institutions be at the forefront of national efforts toward development and reform.
He pointed out that the conference received more than 115 research papers from inside and outside Iraq, of which 90 were accepted after undergoing scientific evaluation and peer review. These papers will be published in reputable international journals, reflecting the academic caliber and thematic importance of the conference.
He also highlighted the wide international participation, including speakers from the United Kingdom, Jordan, Ukraine, and Malaysia, as well as researchers from eight other Arab and foreign countries. This added a global dimension to the conference and provided a real opportunity for the exchange of experiences and ideas.
In his speech, the University President addressed key areas of administrative, economic, and financial reform, stressing the need to modernize institutional structures, develop e-governance, enhance transparency and good governance, diversify sources of national income, reduce dependence on rent-based resources, and control public spending.
He emphasized that digital transformation and artificial intelligence are essential strategic tools to enhance institutional performance, achieve social justice, and improve services. He affirmed the Ministry of Higher Education’s commitment to supporting such high-level scientific events.
At the conclusion of his speech, the University President expressed his gratitude to the Minister for his kind patronage, and to all the official and academic bodies that contributed to the success of the conference. He praised the efforts of the scientific and organizational committees, hoping that the sessions of the conference would yield recommendations that contribute to building a more advanced and stable future for Iraq.
The first day of the conference included a speech by the Dean of the College of Administration and Economics, Asst. Prof. Dr. Muhannad Khalifa Obaid, as well as the honoring of distinguished guests and participants. Additionally, three scientific sessions were held covering the main themes of administration, economics, finance, accounting, and information systems.
